Ep. 1: Live Launch vs. Evergreen Funnels: Why Both Are Imperfect Options

TUNE IN: Spotify | Apple Podcasts | Stitcher

Business owners give so much to live launches. Sleepless nights, being there live, making it all big and exciting… Even when it does perform, it’s exhausting. And when it doesn’t, it becomes a huge financial and emotional stress.

While this strategy has become incredibly popular and *can* perform well, there is still a massive unpredictability to it that makes it very difficult to run a business. In this episode, Nicki and Kate discuss why live launching is not the end all be all it’s made out to be…(and why you don’t have to gamble all your revenue on a few weeks a year)!

A Sneak Peek at the Episode

[2:10] While live launching can be successful, there is a massive unpredictability to it, which makes it very difficult to plan and run a business.

[5:00] It is very common for launches to tank right after you have a successful one. Not only is that a financial stress on your business, it also has a huge emotional impact.

[7:00] If you only launch twice a year, you are gambling a significant amount of revenue on a couple of random weeks in the year. You can’t possibly know if that time is going to work, making it incredibly risky and unnecessarily stressful.

[9:15] When live launching doesn’t work, it often makes business owners question whether their business is worth it at all. Just because the “big gurus” are doing it doesn’t mean it will work in the same way for you.

[11:10] If someone finds you and are interested in your offer, they’re not going to wait around for your next live launch. They’re going to buy from a competitor. Live launching is not the way that you have to do it.

[15:00] If you are live launching, it is very difficult to run testing. If you can only test your messaging twice a year, it’s going to make it impossible to make a difference with those results.

[20:00] The need to nurture people on your list is a myth! They came to you and they are excited, all the time you spend nurturing is wasting that excitement and allowing it to dissipate.

[24:00] You can nurture AND sell to people on your list at the same time, and take advantage of that excitement they have.

[27:00] Live launching, evergreen, and the systems we’ve been told to use make it really hard for potential customers to buy from us. In fact, it actually dissuades them from purchasing from us.

[31:00] If you are always stressed about revenue, hitting your numbers, and focusing on people coming in, you never have time to improve your offer for existing customers.

Must-Hear Takeaways

As with every episode, we highly encourage you listen to the entire conversation! But, here are a few of the highlights:

Nicki Krawczyk, founder of Circuit Sales System, and Kate Sitarz, Nicki K Media's marketing manager, work at a counter with laptops and laugh at each other.

“There’s just no sense of continuity. I’s completely unpredictable. So how do you plan your business for a year or a quarter without knowing what your revenue is going to be? Without knowing what income you’re going to have? How do you bring on a team member without knowing if you can afford to pay them?” – Nicki

“Big gurus can do a live launch once or twice a year because they’re the big gurus. People are buying that name. So yes, they will wait a year or they’ll wait six months or whatever. If you are one of those big gurus, then yeah, absolutely keep live launching once or twice a year. But if you’re not, it’s not going to work for you the same way.” – Nicki

“If you’re always stressed about revenue, and hitting your next number, and you’re always focused on people coming in, you can never improve your offer or service to the existing customers. You can never build on what you’ve done because you’re completely stressed and focused on just trying to stay afloat and keeping your business afloat. How can you grow, scale, provide more to your loyal customers, and develop that loyalty and relationship if you never have the time to focus on them?” – Kate
