Ep. 2: 3 Essential (and Against-the-Grain) Elements of Online Business Success

TUNE IN: Spotify | Apple Podcasts | Stitcher

In Episode 1, we talked a lot about what doesn’t work in the digital marketing sphere. Today, we’re focusing on what *does* work–and what we have seen work not only for our own multi-brand digital marketing business, but also the Circuit Sales System students who we teach.

Listen in as Nicki and Kate dig into capturing customers at their peak excitement (without risking your revenue), making it easy for them to buy (without the low urgency and conversions), and giving them that “lightbulb moment” to build trust in your offer.

A Sneak Peek at the Episode

[1:00]  In the previous episode (ep. 1), we talked about what doesn’t work in the digital marketing sphere. This episode focuses on what *does* work (and have successfully implemented for our own multi-brand digital marketing business).

[3:24] Selling at peak excitement works. What most entrepreneurs don’t know is that people are most excited about your offering when they first discover your solution. If you don’t give them a compelling offer at that moment, their motivation will wane.

[6:25] Many people in the digital marketing space believe you have to spend days nurturing someone before you sell to them. But you *can* do both at the same time.

[9:36]  If you are holding people back from purchasing the solutions they want, you’re burning up their motivation and excitement, or actively encouraging them to buy from your competitors.

[11:21] If people understand the value in what you have to offer and you’ve communicated that, then it doesn’t matter how much it costs.

[13:45] Give people the opportunity to buy when they are ready to buy. But throwing up an evergreen offer is not the alternative because there’s no urgency or incentive to take action.

[18:25] Instead of teaching, teaching, teaching, give people breakthroughs. That way, you help them understand new concepts without breaking down exactly how to do it. Then they will be inspired to learn the “how” in your program.

[25:29] Breakthroughs are exciting for people – it gives them hope for their own situation and shows that you have the expertise for what *will* work. The place for breakthroughs is before people purchase, whereas teaching should happen in the program after they purchase.

Must-Hear Takeaways

As with every episode, we highly encourage you listen to the entire conversation! But, here are a few of the highlights:

“We can sell to them at the same time that we nurture them and they can have the experience of getting to know us and getting more comfortable with us and understanding our expertise while still getting more and more interested in the solution that we have to offer. And that means that they also have the opportunity to purchase when they’re at peak excitement, not a week later after you’ve spent a week nurturing them.” – Nicki

“That isn’t the alternative to just throw up your offer and say, ‘well, you told me they need to be able to buy when they want to buy, so let me throw the evergreen offer up and they can buy whenever they want’. And as we know, if people can just buy whenever they’re not going to, there’s no urgency, there’s no reason to take action.” – Nicki

“When you are teach, teach, teaching, all you are doing is draining people’s energy. You’re putting a further drain on that excitement, inspiration, and motivation. And so instead of teaching, teaching, teaching, what you want to do is give people breakthroughs, to help them understand new concepts without breaking down exactly how to do it.” – Nicki
