Ep 53: Hitting $10K Her First Month on a Circuit—While Earning a PhD – Claire’s Story

TUNE IN: Spotify | Apple Podcasts | Stitcher

What happens when you’re good at not just a couple of things, but a lot of things? And you want to pursue all those things. But you don’t have enough time to do them all and do them well. And you certainly don’t want to half-ass any of it.

That’s the position multipotentialite Claire found herself in.

Claire is not only earning her PhD in neuroscience, but she’s also helping other PhD candidates crack the Oxford code via her Oxford Scholarship Success Course.

Both of these pursuits give Claire the ability to change lives in different ways.

She pursued neuroscience when an accident dramatically impacted her twin sister’s life.

But during the process of applying to PhD programs, Claire realized that so many people with the grit and desire to earn a PhD were being turned away from prestigious universities simply because they didn’t understand the process.

On this episode of the Circuit Sales System podcast, Claire shares her story, why she got into business, and how the Circuit Sales System is allowing her to balance running a business and earning a PhD.

Listen now for a heavy dose of inspiration!

A Sneak Peek at the Episode

[08:40]  “I kind of figured out while I’ve been here working on the lab research, there are so many other people in the world who are wanting to make a positive impact in whatever way like me, but come from a world completely outside of sort of this ivory tower.”

[10:45] “You can really break it down step by step and really give people the feeling it is true that there can be a strategy behind this. It doesn’t have to feel like complete luck. And so I started Oxbridge Admissions Club. The very first business actually in this niche.”

[11:53] “Now I’ve been 10 months into business. Yesterday was the last day of July, 2024, and just in the nick of time, I beat my monthly revenue record. So that was my second 10K month  and now 10 months into business, I’ve surpassed $65,000 in revenue.”

[14:55] “This audience more than ever, they need to really, really trust you. Gen Z is really allergic to being sold to. And this is one of the things that really attracted me to CSS when I first started seeing advertisements about it. I knew this audience, more so than a lot of audiences, need to really feel like you’re building a relationship and giving a lot of free value up front.”

[19:27] “I got the Circuit Sales System at the end of January, and then took a couple months to put things together, but I was able to launch my Oxford Scholarship Success Course, the OSSC, and the free training—the Lightbulb Video—with that on the 1st of April of this year. And then by the end of April I had my first 10K month because of the Circuit Sales System for sure.”

[24:03] “The passivity of selling with the CSS allowed me to take that step back and I think that’s been such a blessing for me, money aside, like to continue to make that revenue is amazing, but also that the business doesn’t just fall in shambles because I need to personally take some time away.”

[27:21] “You go through your periods of time where you’ve like pushed periods and you’re hustling a lot, and then times you can take a step back, right? But definitely like the Circuit Sales System has enabled the road to actually seeing that more passive income.”

[32:48] “I had to just keep reminding myself and for anyone listening, if you’re in that position right now, like if there are people who are trolling, when that starts, you’re doing something right. It’s an inevitability.”

[36:00]  “I’ve now helped over 700 students from over 70 countries around the world with the assistance of the circuit sales system. And I think that’s just absolutely amazing, the fact that a very inaccessible closed off world be more accessible to all amazing deserving people out there who really wanna make a positive difference.”

[41:31] “It allows me to go to the lab and actually focus on it every day and then I can come home and take care of this stuff, but it’s not consuming my life like it was before. Make an impact in both of these ways that are different, but I can be satisfied in so many different facets and satisfy my multipotential and not feel like I’m really dropping the ball as much.”

[46:10]  “Not everyone’s going to understand it and that’s okay. That’s what being in business so far has also taught me, not everyone’s going to like me. That’s okay. It doesn’t have to be personal, doesn’t mean anything bad about me. We’re just not the right fit. That’s okay.”

Must-Hear Takeaways

As with every episode, we highly encourage you to listen to the entire conversation! But, here are a few of the highlights:

Headshot of Claire Johnson, founder of the Oxford Scholarship Success Course (OSSC).

” So I think that’s what I’ve been surprised by and impressed with about the Circuit Sales System is like, I am convinced now that I think it works for almost any niche. “

“I haven’t found any sort of sales system or people in online business selling business solutions where anything about anyone in higher education is mentioned. Does this work for my audience? And so far I think I’m finding that it works quite well.” – Claire

” I think it’s great that there’s sort of a delineation inside the course between bare minimum to launch. Bare minimum is still very comprehensive. It’s not bare bones at all but  you’re able to not feel like you have to have completed everything in order to put it out there. And I think that was very nice.” – Claire

“Underscore too louder for the people in the back of bare minimum, you don’t need everything set to go and clearly have success and make money, which is beautiful.” – Kate

“Only someone who has started a business can appreciate all that goes into starting a business and the way that you have to stretch yourself and be uncomfortable and do all of this other kind of stuff. So, a business owner knows how much that takes and then put something on top of that.” – Nicki

“If you truly believe this is going to help people and serve them, and you’re listening to your gut about it that one way or another, eventually it is going to happen. It could take many twists and turns to get there. It’s going to work out.”

“Why spend time now getting hung up on, Is it gonna work out? It’s going to work out. Just trust it. And I have to remind myself of that every day. Even these days it’s harder to believe it some days than others that I truly believe. And definitely my business, my research, my twin sister, all taught me that.” – Claire
