Killer offer. ✅
Tried-and-true strategies. ✅
Unmatched work ethic. ✅
Check, check, and check. That means we should be rolling in riches as we transform our customers’ lives, right?

As she says, “It’s not normal to build a rich and creative life and build a thriving career. But you can’t afford to be normal.“
As an author and creative coach (among other accolades!), Jess helps creatives level up their income, impact, and imagination—and that all begins with

A Sneak Peek at the Episode
[07:55] Jess’s goal is to help you you identify the specific areas that are keeping you from being your richest self.
[11:12] We often think it’s the right offers that do the trick. We think it’s the right strategies. We think it’s the right pitches, even the right work ethic. What actually does the trick is clearing the blocks to you accessing all of that information. In order to make money, we need to execute certain steps to put our work out there in the world.
[14:20] Jess explains the money ecosystem in your body and how our bodies are literally scanning for danger every four seconds. Anytime you have an insight or a piece of awareness or a strategy or step that you want to take to grow your business, and it’s new, your body’s going to say, “no, no, don’t do that though.”
[15:02] Motivation and willpower are cheap. You do not want to be leaning on those things. You will have it for like five seconds—maybe between like 9:30 to 10 in the morning—and then your toast. Reminder: all of this physiological resistance that you feel is actually not the enemy.
[17:00] You’ve got to dream up the business that you’re trying to create here. Then you have to create the business structure to support it. Then you need to show up and be present and sell your offer. You’re selling something you value. When you meet the world with that offer, that is how you create impact.
[19:30] You might be feeling resentment or envy, which is keeping you scrolling your Instagram thinking, “oh, so and so has such a perfect life and her hair’s gorgeous and she’s got no pores and how is she doing all this stuff?” You might have imposter syndrome, procrastination, perfectionism.
[22:20] Ask yourself: “Where do I feel the most pinging?” Do you have resistance or self-sabotage around the actual creating or honing or crafting portion of your business? Do you have a hard time going on lives or chatting on podcasts? Or even saying what you do out loud?
[24:45] Think of what was happening in your body. And then, you need to show, don’t tell, your body. Meaning, you need to putting up the buy link, go on a live and talk about your work—whatever it is that’s kicking up resentment. You have to incrementally show your body that it’s safe.
[26:24] Awareness is your best friend. The minute you get awareness of discomfort, the minute you feel that ping, that is enough to start shaking this process and kind of loosening that ingrained reaction.
[27:00] When do you tighten up? When do you say, “I’ll procrastinate instead.”
[31:28] Start today and begin this process by giving your brain and body something to react to because the best part is your body won’t lie.
[32:03] Do you have a hard time getting your actual business up and running? Crafting the ideas? If you have a hard time nailing that down, that is actually a creative intuition block. But if you say, “I have a hard time showing up, sharing my stuff, and actively selling that,” that’s more a visibility block.
[34:00] If you have a hard time as soon as you mention money, you have a hard time receiving or even keeping money, that’s an indication that you’ve got a money block. You have to start self-studying what’s going on. And it’s only from there that we can go deeper.
[35:00] It is not normal to build a rich and creative life and build a thriving career. But you can’t afford to be normal.
[37:10] What would you consider the type of procrastination if you’re getting stuck in the learning process? I call smart girl syndrome, which is where we often feel like we need to just be like a little bit smarter to keep towards the goal that we want.
[41:30] Create something even just to show your body that it’s safe and it doesn’t matter what it is. Put something out there on paper so that you can remind yourself through that kind of incremental step.
[41:39] If family member, friend, et cetera, is not super supportive, how can I overcome that block? Is that enough of a reason to not do something towards that goal? Most of the time, no. but this is one of those instances where if you have to say, “I understand you don’t get this, but this is something that’s deeply important to me.”
